The Los Angeles Chapter of AFCEA invites you to attend the 2018 GPS Partnership Council. The GPS Partnership Council will again be hosted by the Los Angeles Chapter of AFCEA and we are proud to continue with this tradition. Based on feedback, we expanded the agenda and are providing additional time for mixing and learning about GPS hardware and products from vendor booths.
The Partnership will kick off on Thursday, May 3rd, with our lunch speaker, Colonel Steve Whitney, the Director of the Global Positioning Systems Directorate, Space and Missile Systems Center. This will be followed by a presentation from Harold W. Martin III, a member of the Senior Executive Service from the Department of Transportation, is the Director of the National Coordination Office for Space-Based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT). We will wrap up the first day with a “Future of GPS” panel.
There will be a mixer that night where we plan to honor the GPS Hall of Fame inductee and family members. The GPS Hall of Fame honors the technical achievements of someone who has made significant contributions to GPS and is now retired. All GPS partnership attendees are encouraged to attend; a ticket to the mixer is included in your registration.
On Friday, May 4th, we will serve a continental breakfast followed by the Industry panel which will address challenges to GPS systems integration, Dr. Brad Parkinson’s (Dr. Parkinson was one of the founders of GPS, a former GPS Program Director and currently the Co-Director of the Stanford Center for PNT) presentation on potential GPS interference sources and then the Warfighter panel where we will discuss good and bad aspects of GPS User equipment. We will conclude about 1400 so that folks can get prepared for the Dining out that night.
